Dear Partner,

The week of May 19, TCT friends and family will join Tina and me to celebrate TCT’s 31st Anniversary! We will be taking a journey down memory lane: reflecting over the past, and looking forward to the future.

Over thirty years ago, while attending a Full Gospel Businessmen’s Convention, God spoke to my heart to leave the convention hall and to return to my hotel room. While on my face, God spoke and asked me to step out in obedience. He assured me that much would be accomplished, if I would do this.

At the time, I did not fully understand what God was asking of me; all I knew was that I needed to obey Him.

It was just a few short weeks later that the Lord began to speak to me again. This time He spoke about building a full-time television station to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To my mind, this was a totally crazy idea. My training and education were in business; I knew nothing about television. Why would God ask me to do something that was so out of my realm of expertise?

So, I sought counsel from some trusted men of God. I told them what I thought God was saying, hoping that they would tell me that this idea was too outrageous. Their response was not one of disbelief. Rather, it was a confirmation that this was what I needed to do!

The week of May 19th, we will celebrate 31 years of faithful service to that calling. What started out as one station has steadily grown over 31 years, into a network of 18 stations, which broadcast on ten satellites, and reach 170 countries with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Looking back over these years, I can say that I know the faithfulness of the Lord. He was true to His Word. I can see what He has accomplished through the ministry of TCT – simply because we were obedient.

In this edition of the TCT President's Newsletter, I would like to share with you a little about TCT and the about heart of this ministry.

LOCAL PARTNERSHIP...

Since its beginning, Tina and I have understood the importance of partnering with local churches. We have joined with many pastors to draw on community resources, to help strengthen the local faith-based community.

From this partnership, a group has emerged which consists of hundreds of cross-denominational pastors who accept pastoral referrals. In addition, they participate as panelists and / or hosts of local and international TCT-produced programs.

TCT also relies on the help of volunteers, at each of our local and international Prayer Centers. They take calls from viewers around the world.

INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH...

TCT believes in the Great Commission of going into all the world and preaching the Gospel (Mark 16:15). We know the world needs to hear the good news of Jesus, and that is why we invest great resources into broadcasting on ten satellites to reach 170 nations.

Every day, we receive hundreds of email, letters and phone calls from around the world, many from individuals living in countries where the preaching of the Gospel is not allowed. However, through satellite, we are able to beam the salvation message into homes to bypass boundaries, which would stop conventional missionary efforts.

A HEART FOR MISSIONS...

Through the years, Tina and I have understood the great need for us to be involved in mission projects. In fact, recently we began to ask our viewers to consider sending a $5.00 bill to help us replenish our mission’s budget. The reason for the depletion has to do with the various outreach needs, which we have helped.

Here are just a few of the projects in which we have been involved:

  • Traveling to Guatemala, my daughter, Julie and I were able to hand out 50,000 Bibles to schoolchildren, and another 10,000 New Testaments to police and military personnel.

  • After the great tsunami in 2005, we took a team to India to help recovery efforts. We were able to donate several thousand dollars to orphanages and ministries.

  • TCT helped with the purchase and renovation of a safe home for orphan girls in the country of Moldova. Today, "Stella's House" provides pleasant, warm protection and an opportunity for education and fulfillment.

  • TCT purchased a large, reliable truck for Philip Cameron Ministries to take food, medicine, clothing and other supplies to orphanages in the Eastern European country of Romania.

ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE HURTING...

Tina and I understand that many people, all around the world, are facing many difficult situations and that they need someone to offer them hope. Our hearts’ desire is to bring encouragement to hurting individuals, whether it is through the programming we air, or one-on-one with a Prayer Partner at one of our nine Prayer Centers.

What lies ahead for TCT? Only God knows fully where He wants to take this ministry. But believe me when I say that I know when we walk in obedience to the Lord, good things will happen. We are looking forward to the exciting days ahead.

Tina and I want to thank you for your past support of TCT and for your faithfulness in the future.

For His Kingdom,

Garth
